These photographs were among several photographs in souvenir of a trip to Death Valley, California. Then, some of them became part of an album of photographs from various deserts. More recently, as I introduced more artistic decisions in my processing, I decided (1) to reduce the vividness and contrast of some originally orangish color typical of deserts at sunrise or sunset, and (2) to slightly change their hue towards brownish colors. The intention was to better recall the relaxing and meditative mind I had in the desert by emphasizing the soft play between light and shadow, shapes, and layers. For this series, I also decided to use square frames to better convey harmony and a sense of balance.
