Title: The Last in Formation

About the Photo:

Lake Wigry, Poland.

Mist dissolves the boundary between sky and water.
Five birds glide low above the still surface, moving in quiet rhythm – as if not to wake the silence.
A beautiful wild beach on Lake Wigry, late October – the world was slowly settling into its winter sleep. I hid among the reeds, waiting for swans that never came that day. Instead, five mallards emerged cheerfully from the nearby reedbed, splashing in the water before eventually heading off into the open lake. At that moment, I imagined a blurred frame – a long exposure – and the surrounding fog and October greys made that vision possible. The photo was taken in color, though in truth, there was hardly any color at all.
