This portrait was made to blend in with a series of minimalist images, work that was exhibited in June 2025 for my graduation from photography school. The series featured a majority of organic and mineral subjects, which I combined to form an aesthetic arborescence. I wanted to combine a portrait of a human being with photos of flowers, also photographed in the studio. So I looked for a model with a physical feature that allowed me to make the link with these natural subjects (the afro hairstyle that took the same shape as my photographed flowers). I then thought about poses with a minimalist aesthetic and where the face was not visible, to accentuate the resemblance. Today, I’m only participating with this photo, the only portrait I’ve included in my series of 62.
