In this series, I used sunlight as an instrument of selection, not merely for illumination.
Through extreme tonal reduction, each photograph isolates an object, or parts of it, that is generally familiar to everyone, while the surrounding world almost completely disappears into black.
The strong contrast denies visual comfort and invites the viewer to grapple with what remains when context, narrative, and surroundings vanish.
