About the Photo:

Quite often in photography, it is not you finding a shot but the shot is finding you. I think this photo is one of such cases. Those poles were not a planned subject but rather something I spotted when already heading home after shooting some other subjects. I didn’t think much of it at first but I liked the simplicity and the geometry of the scene. So I decided to take a photo anyway. It was quite dark already so I ended up with 3o seconds long exposure which, I think, is what made this photo work. I like its minimalist feel, soft pastel colors of the sunset, a perfect mirror of the water and the contrast of black poles against it. And just like this, a quick “why not?” shot turned out to be my favorite from that day, month and a maybe whole year.THEY JUST ARE.”
