Land of Clay is a series of photos which reflects the character of the rural region of Zeeuws-Vlaanderen where I live. The soil consists of clay, dark greasy clay. Sometimes hidden under grass or other crops, but often at the surface. In winter when the bare fields are flogged by the weather, the landscape can look gloomy. But that is exactly what I like about this country. Fog, wet clay, gray skies and a lonely farm can make my wistful heart happy.
