Title: Waves of Grain

About the Photo:
Tucked away in southeastern Washington is an agricultural area with a unique topography. Known as the Palouse, this area primarily grows grains such as wheat, oats etc. This grain elevator, located in Steptoe, Washington, requires a long lens and a high vantage point to photograph. The high vantage point was provided by Steptoe Butte State Park which is approximately 2-3 miles (straight distance) from the town of Steptoe. A long lens created the compression needed to bring the rolling hills together. In case you are curious, written on the grain elevator is ‘Whitman County Growers’.
