Title: White Palm, Los Angeles

About the Photo:
The white tree in this image was literally painted white as part of an installation piece by the amazing French artist Vincent Lamauroux, called “Projection”. Vincent decided to paint/spray the entire exterior of a derelict old Motel on Sunset Blvd. + a few of the trees around it – white. He used a lime-based paint, that was harmless to the trees. It was a stunningly surreal sight. To take this picture I had to climb on the roof of an old garage on the opposite side of the street. I was struck by the juxtaposition of the two beautiful trees. It was shot on a Mamiya 6×6 medium format film camera.
