Title: Covid-19

About the Photo:

It doesn’t matter the time of day

You’re lurking

You sneak through the crevices of air

Stealing hearts left and right

Creating ghosts of once was

Stop haunting us

Stop haunting me

I took this in the beginning of the pandemic of 2020 when there was a worldwide shortage of PPE. Watching outbreaks occur left and right with no protection for ourselves. I was haunted working in the front line. It was daunting to watch the virus hover above us no matter the time of day waiting to infect the next victim. I wanted this image to be bright, light, with darker undertones to showcase what covid-19 is to me as a frontline worker. The situation never matters with covid-19. It can be day, night, light, dark, but covid is the moon, showing up all times of the day.

Chromesthesia colors inspired by Lorde, ”Buzzcut Season”.

Synesthesia is a neurological condition, where you experience one of your senses through another. For me when I listen to music I see color, and shape. I photograph while listening to music to find shapes, and to see what colors might look best in the landscape I’m looking at. I then add the colors back in post processing of the photograph.
