I have always been fascinated by the wilderness and the beauty of this indefinite zone between the sea and the land which belongs neither here nor there. It is the creation of tidal movement, changing forever and since time began. I am drawn to the beauty of the water, its movement and changing form, to its unharnessed power and creativity, and of course its eternity. I attempt with this series to soften the sea and to harden the land, separating the identities and character of these two elements while searching for the aesthetic lines to compose my images.
I took these photographs over 3 years between 2017 and 2019 on the isle of Harris, Scotland.
