Title: Mussels Picking

About the Photo:

This was in early august in Tadoussac (Quebec, Canada), on the shore of the Saint-Lawrence River at low tide. There was a lot of smog due to major forest fires 1500km away, in Western Ontario. The sky was harshly white because of the sunlight, the blue of the sky could barely be seen. The horizon line and the South shore of the river, 25 km away, were invisible. Then, I saw this woman going in the river and starting to slowly walk in the mud about 100 meters away, with her bucket. She was picking mussels. The scene was surrealistic, all whitish except for this woman, a few emerged rocks and the background shore with some sea mist. I felt in love with such a perfect scene.
