The beach of St. Peter Ording at the North Sea Coast in Germany is well known and appreciated by many people. Usually it is a very busy place – unless you visit it very early in the morning which I did in last September. Without any other visitors this very vast beach can sometimes convey the feeling of being in the desert. I thought this was a funny contrast to all the surfing gear around.
