I took this photo northwest of Los Angeles. The residual light faded quickly right after sunset, making me contemplate my precarious spot among the rocks on a dark steep mountain slope above the road. The song “The End” by the Doors lingered in my mind. Singing it to myself produced a welcome chuckle and deep breath as I persevered in my photo quest. I felt joy because the commuters light streams traveling across my lens matched the lyrics.
