Description
After the Storm
Along the black sand beaches of Iceland’s southern coast, winter reveals a landscape shaped by wind. A powerful storm has just passed, leaving the shoreline raw and transformed. Fragments of ice, broken away from the country’s largest glacier, have been scattered across the volcanic sand.
The wind has carved through the snow, stripping the beach back to its dark lava foundation. From above, the contrast is striking: deep black earth, pale ice shards, and the soft traces of drifting snow, all layered in a fleeting composition created by nature’s intensity.
