An abandoned stone well in the forests of northern Wisconsin, photographed from directly above by drone. Built by hand approximately a century ago, the well’s circular wall has been slowly breached by time and the encroaching forest. Shadow lines from surrounding trees penetrate the circle indifferently, ignoring the boundary human hands once tried to impose on this landscape. What remains is a perfect geometric form holding its shape against a century of silence — a human mark the forest has decided to keep.
