Photographed in the Bo Kaap district of Cape Town, South Africa, this image captures an unexpected moment of visual harmony between architecture, colour and chance. Made through attentive observation rather than staging, the photograph reflects my ongoing interest in how ordinary public spaces can briefly align into something extraordinary. The title, Colour Divides, refers both to the literal divisions of colour within the frame and to the wider ways colour can mark boundaries of identity, history and perception.
