Title:

Solitude

Description

I took this photo during one of my usual evening strolls along the Limassol promenade. For this walk, I brought a Fujifilm X-Pro3 camera paired with a vintage Soviet MIR-1 37mm f/2.8 lens with manual focus.

Walking along the main promenade, I didn’t expect to see much. The lens has a unique character, but it can be difficult to work with, especially when subjects are moving quickly. In the distance, near the Molos promenade, I noticed a woman standing alone at the end of the pier, as if waiting for something.

The sun was beginning to set, bathing the landscape in a beautiful golden light. For a moment, everything came together perfectly—the subject, the atmosphere, and the light. Despite the difficulty with manual focus, I managed to capture the moment at just the right moment.

I was drawn to the scene for its sense of solitude and contemplation. The woman seemed frozen in time, illuminated by the warm evening light. Her presence, combined with the vibrant red of her clothing and the soft glow of the sunset, created a moment that felt both quiet and extraordinary.
