What Remains,Self-Portrait – Jacinta Tomyn
HONORABLE MENTION IN PORTRAIT
Jacinta Tomyn
Title:
What Remains,Self-Portrait
Description
Through the use of an adapted pinhole technique, this self-portrait exists between visibility and absence, intimacy and distance. Abstraction and ambiguity are embraced to evoke an elusive sense of “otherness,” where light, movement, and form dissolve beyond straightforward representation.
By resisting clarity, the work questions fixed notions of identity within portraiture, proposing ambiguity not as something unresolved, but as an essential part of individuality as an evolving and perceptual experience.
