Structures of Silence is a photographic series created in 2025 in various urban locations across Italy. The project investigates fragments of contemporary and vernacular architecture, photographed in moments of stillness where form, light, and shadow reduce space to its essential visual components.
The images were captured using natural light and framed with frontal or elevated perspectives to emphasize spatial clarity, formal tension, and minimal geometry. Each composition isolates walls, planes, and junctions—allowing surfaces to interact through convergence, rhythm, intersection, symmetry, and offset. These relationships give rise to abstract visual structures that transcend functionality, opening a space of silent contemplation.
The photographs were refined in post-production through careful tonal adjustments to reinforce the overall minimalism and coherence of the series.
This work is part of an ongoing personal investigation into the visual language of architecture, where built environments become fields of perception—between presence and absence, structure and silence.
