This is a picture of the One World Trade Center Tower in New York City. It stands tall next to the reflecting pool Memorial of 911.
The Abstract composition reminds me of an inverted Bookmark symbol. Indeed, the skyscraper marks a very specific moment and place in time. The only reason it exist is because our world on 911 got turned upside down. The negative space, gives the impression of infinite space while the ephemeral and delicate cloud balances the composition to remind the viewer that our passage is a brief moment in time.
