An old, flooded mining operation in Cyprus dating back to the 1960’s has resulted in an eclectic range of abstract colours and forms in the landscape. From above, I was able to capture a birds eye view of the mesmeric yet corrosive impact sulphuric acid pollution has had on the local environment and how it has extinguished the possibility of plants, trees and animal life surviving in the immediate vicinity. Although the red lake is both radiant and ghastly in equal measures due to its grim history, this series of images demonstrates just how damaging human activity is having on our natural environments.
